How to paint an upholstered chair

I have been wrecking my brain if I can paint an upholstered chair. If the paint would take and so forth. Well, a couple of months ago I saw the cutest wingback in white upholstery and when I got closer I realized that it was painted. What a shock. I was elated by my discovery. My idea was not bad afterall.

Here we go I went ahead and painted 2 chairs and I was so delighted at their outcome that I am going to share with you how to do it.

There a several ways to paint a chair. I used a very simple way to do it.

Materials:
Latex paint (wall paint)
Brush or/and roller
 medium grit sand paper

Make sure the chair is nice and clean. Sand lightly all the wooden parts on the chair. Remove the cushion. Then apply the paint. It may take 2 coats. Once the paint has dried sand the whole chair by hand not with an electric sander. Make sure you dust the chair really well. And Voila! Here is your new chair!
Now is your turn to try it on a chair. You can send me your photos of your projects on my facebook page www.facebook.com/simplyparis4701
Happy painting!

thanks for becoming a new follower on my blog. I'm following you now too and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.
I love your painted chairs. I tried this on a cute cane back chair and it turned out really cute. It sold right away in my booth. I did a post about it awhile back. Great idea!
